ESN change over phone for verizon?

My phone died today (r.i.p.) and I am going to get my number switched to my sister's old phone. I went to the verizon wireless store and they said I could pay $15 to get the ENS change done in the store or I could call the people. I just want to know what they will ask and how to do it. I have the number. So what happens...what do they ask?ESN change over phone for verizon?
There's no such charge for this.

Call the Customer Service at 18009220204 and when the recording answers, press 0 to talk to a representative.

Tell them your phone number and they'll open your account.

Tell them you want to activate a new phone.

They'll ask for the ESN or MEID number of the phone you wish to activate - FREE OF CHARGE!

How do I know? I've done it three times with new phones for myself.ESN change over phone for verizon?

ESN change over phone for verizon?
there is usually a $15 fee for an esn change however it's up to the rep on if they charge it or not. you are actually able to do this on your own by makign sure your old phone is powered off and from the new phone (your sister's phone) dial *228 and press send. pick option number 3 and follow the prompts. you would need the last four of the account holders ssn or password depends on how the account is set up.
