Why was this person so rude???

My co-worker sold a blackberry curve on an upgrade about 6 days ago. She sold it to her at her normal NE2 pricing. The woman took her phone to Chicago and claimed she was %26quot;dropping calls right and left%26quot; and wanted to return it. She came into my store last night (right as I was closing, naturally) and started to *****. %26quot;My friend got this phone for FREE at corporate. I know you're a privately owned business, and you can charge WHATEVER you want, but I'm going to see to it no one i KNOW comes here%26quot; So, after she said this, I polite asked, %26quot;So you'd like to return this phone?%26quot; and she looked at me like I was stupid and said %26quot;well, yeah. I already talked to Verizon, their sending me another phone, I want my money back that YOU over charged me for.

%26quot;

To clarify this, yes, she was overcharged. BlackBerry's right now are eligible for an additional 100 dollars off. I suppose my co-worker forgot this. I tried to explain, %26quot;we could switch out the phone and I could call and make sure it's ok to give you the additional data discount.

%26quot;

%26quot;I KNOW I can get this phone for free. I know she overcharged me. Look at the receipt%26quot; She replied.

%26quot;I know, I'm agreeing with you. Would you like for me to get you another one?%26quot; I asked.

%26quot;No, I am NOT buying it from here. I already talked to Verizon and told them EVERYTHING.

%26quot;

I asked her if they canceled her upgrade, and she said yes they took care of everything. I really doubt that, but there is not arguing with the wireless aficionado.

This wasn't even my activation. So I started to look through her box, at the box and the contents to make sure everything was intact. I opened the phone to check the batt for water damage, and she was starting at me and said %26quot;WHAT are you looking at that for? I worked in WIRELESS for 15 years and there isn't a THING wrong with that phone.%26quot; I gave her a disgusted look, set the phone down, and proceeded with the return.

She worked in wireless when phones were analog, weighed over 36 oz, were made by Startac or Nokia, before li-on batteries, intennas, and obviously, good customer service existed.

On a side note, when someone says %26quot;I worked in wireless%26quot; in a bitchy tone, my first inclination would be two things:

1)Why don't you understand why I'm checking the battery if you worked in wireless?

2.

) Why are you treating me the same way people treated you back when their Zack Morris bag phone broke?

I bit my tounge, stored up the curse words.

Anyway, I get to the point to give her her refund, and she can't find the credit card so bought the phone with. So, this immediately becomes my fault, apparently I should have her credit card information on file. She finds it (it's thrown in her purse in a flustered fashion) Then, I asked her what phone she is going to use on her account until her new phone comes in. She said %26quot;I don't want YOU to TOUCH my account.

%26quot;

I said %26quot;You have to have a new ESN (got technical because she's obviously the wireless expert) on your account beacuse I'm taking this phone back. We could place a dummy esn on your account or reactivate an old phone of yours because this blackberry is going to remain active until you do. I could call verizon to get the esn for your Treo you have before...%26quot;

Again..

%26quot;I don't want you to TOUCH my account, I don't trust YOU PEOPLE.

%26quot;

So she grabbed the curve she returned (you know, the one that was dropping calls) and called Verizon CS, says she is in the store she bought her curve, makes them listen to the HORRIBLE experience she had with us, and proceeded to do an ESN change that would've taken me 30 seconds.

Than after she hung up with them, she asked me how to do a master reset. I told her I wasn't quite sure, but I'd call and get directions.

Her mumbled reply to this was %26quot;of course you don't know, ha%26quot; and she started to pace around. I got it reset, and was extremely happy and polite to the guy on the phone.

I believe he asked %26quot;Beautiful weather today! Have you been able to enjoy it?%26quot; and I said something like %26quot;Nope, I've been inside for the past 9 and 1/2 hours!%26quot;

After I finished the master reset, she wanted to MAKE SURE all the contacts and phone logs had been deleted. Ehh...I should've just told her to do it herself because I'm incapable.

As she was leaving she attempted an apology, but just turned around to being more of a *****. She said %26quot; you really need to learn to train your employees, have normal pricing, and not quote the REAL verizons prices.

%26quot;

My co-worker and I are a strong believer is saying %26quot;I don't know%26quot; what their pricing is....

This lady almost made me cry with her total degradation of me, my store, my co worker, and the business I've given my life to 1 1/2 yrs.

She kept claiming she was at my co workers MERCY, she had to board a flight to Chicago in less than 12 hours! As she was doing her activation she was telling Kerri she could get the phone for free at corporate.

My question is %26quot;then why the hell didn't you just go to corporate in the first place you crazy *****?!%26quot;

I hate stupid people, and I hope she gets hit by a bus.Why was this person so rude???
just because she was a crazy ****** it doesn't constitute wanted her to get hit with a bus. Karma will come and bite her in the @$$

I will give you props for being polite to her despite her rudeness. Most people would have curse her out on the spot. don't let people like her get to you.Why was this person so rude???
That stinks.... that really stinks...... u must H A T E that...... she must be so annoying and dumb.... she should get hit by a bus...... and sorry about you had to go through that really stinksWhy was this person so rude???
unfortunately we live in a world where every one is stressed. bible describes it as :

Timothy 3:1-17

1 But know this, that in the last days critical times hard to deal with will be here. 2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, self-assuming, haughty, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, disloyal, 3 having no natural affection, not open to any agreement, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, without love of goodness, 4 betrayers, headstrong, puffed up [with pride], lovers of pleasures rather than lovers of God,

these days are very rough on everyone and some people just don't know how to cope with it so they lash out to whom ever they feel like. don't feel sad or angry over her but rather have pity and understanding and be happy that you showed her the respect and professionalism this shows that you are a mature person who knows how to handle her business. if i was someone passing by this event would actually promote me to buy from you. if you were courteous with this person i can but imagine what you would be like with a good customer :)
